I Lost My Cherry

A few weeks ago I had written a blog on tattoos and how they can make you feel empowered and confident. At the time, I didn’t have any tattoos of my own, but was really looking to get one. Well that time has come. As of today I have lost my ink virginity and have a tattoo on my body. (Or will this afternoon)

To me tattoos needed to be special to be on my body. I love that people can express themselves through the artwork they have and I’m not here to judge anyone by their ink. But I’m excited to say that I have joined the ranks of those who have gotten a tattoo.

What is the tattoo, and why is it special?

My tattoo is a magnolia flower as shown on the right. This is the image that was added to my body and the importance of this is it symbolizes my sister, Jennifer, who is one of the most important people in my life. And she and I wanted to make sure we had a tattoo on our bodies for the other.

The reason you are not seeing the image directly on me is because I’M ON VACATION! That’s right, I’m not even in Wisconsin and won’t be for a few more days. I’ve planned ahead to make sure I’m still able to share with you all and wanted to make sure you were kept in the loop of my life and whereabouts. So when the tattoo heals….I will update you all with a real picture.

So now that I have one, we’ll see how many more I do get, I have many people in my life and many things that are important to me. The world may be my oyster, but my body is my canvas and I’m going to make myself even more unique and memorable.

Be strong, be beautiful, be you
