In the 1990’s R.L. Stine started writing the Goosebumps series, which was extremely popular with young adults. There are over 200 books in the series, and now movies are being produced about the series, starring Jack Black.
I am not a huge Jack Black fan, but I find that I like more of his movies as I get a little older than I did when I was younger. This movie was released in 2015, and was fairly well received. It included adventure, comedy, family, fantasy, and a pinch of horror. This movie is rated PG.
The movie takes place in Madison, Delaware, and the new kid who just moved there. Zach Cooper meets his new neighbor, the beautiful Hannah. Hannah’s father is a bit mysterious, but he has every reason to be. He is author, R.L. Stine, and he’s got a big secret.
The monsters in his books are real. And he keeps them locked up in their books. But unintentionally Zach releases the monsters and it’s up to him, R.L. Stine, Hannah, and Zach’s friend Champ to put them back where they belong.

This is one that the whole family should enjoy. Pop that popcorn, crack open the sodas, and pass the milk duds, this is a great movie for family night!
