Hello again my beauties! This is the last blog post I have planned for the makeup series. If you feel I have missed anything, please let me know, however I do have plans for other areas of beauty and health so please stay tuned for next week. This week we are talking about lips again, but after liner and lip stick, we need to decide on gloss.
Glossy lips, matte lips, natural lips, regardless of your desired look one thing is certain, you need healthy lips and one way to ensure they are healthy is to keep them moist. Now your face has face cream, your eyes have eye cream, your lips…what do they have?
Two things you probably already own to help moisturize and keep your lips healthy; chap stick, and lip gloss. Various dermatologists have stated that human skin heals faster when you keep it hydrated. So even if you swipe on some mascara, don’t forget to add a little gloss to your pout as it will seal the visible cracks on a chapped lip. That in turn will prevent your lips from getting dry and possible infected.
But with all the options to choose from, which should I use?
There are many to choose from: shimmer, high shine, tinted, lip oil, lip plumping. Which one should you use? That is always going to be your choice. I have probably used a product in every category, and can tell you what I prefer, but please don’t consider me the expert, I’m far from it.
My favorite lip glosses:
- Buxom Lip Gloss in the shade Kanani – This is a pink color and works well on it’s own or over a pink or neutral shade of lipstick. What I like is the color, t looks bright, but when worn it is a nice pink sheer. I also like the fact that it doesn’t feel sticky on my lips. Buxom also brags that their lip glosses help plump your lips. When using their products for the first time, you may find a tingly sensation in your lips, that is the plumping ingredient working.
- Maybelline Lip Lifter Gloss with Hyaluronic Acid in the color Ice – The biggest draws on this product, is the price, $8.99 at drug stores. And the fact that this product comes with Hyaluronic acid in the formula. This is a very hydrating product and I’m really in love. The shade is also very nude/neutral and can be used alone or over other products. If you have given up on drugstore brands, try this, I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
But whatever you choose for your lips, let it be something that makes you feel even more beautiful! You do not need to wear makeup for anyone, you are beautiful just as you are.
Be strong, be beautiful, be you
