Not that long ago I started to make some changes in my life. I’m creating a new lifestyle and it means being more healthy. So when I started going to the gym I also started to eat differently.
I’m the first one to admit that I turn to food when I have any emotions, stress, or just for comfort. And I have often over eaten because I silenced that voice that says to stop. It’s no wonder that I am overweight.
I have started working out and even though it’s been really busy the last few weeks I am still trying to go consistently. But that is only one area I needed to tackle. I needed to start changing my eating patterns.
I have glanced at articles that share the foods to eat and the foods to avoid if you want to lose weight, and I have come to the conclusion that they are all crap.
Changing a lifestyle doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a certain food, or can only eat salad the rest of your life. No. It simply means doing things in moderation but not depriving yourself. Nor over eating. It’s a fine line.
One thing I really wanted to focus on was my lower belly. Gah! I hate that part of myself completely and after having kids it’s now a glorious mom bod, but I still wanted to reduce it.
What I found that jumpstarted it was avocados. I love avocados and I started eating more of them. I added them to salads, sandwiches, even as a side on my plate. After about a week I noticed that my belly was smaller. I don’t measure as I am not going to be categorized by more numbers, so I cannot say how much it went down.
But I noticed a difference. And hopefully soon others will as well. I’m going to keep exercising and finding more foods to help my body transform into the amazing Phoenix that I am.
