The ABC’s of Feeling Sexy – G to M

Exploring ways to bring that sexy feeling back, not only for us, but for our partners as well. Last week I started the alphabet with A to F, today I’m going to continue it and hopefully find more ways you can use to bring the sexy back. As mentioned last week, please practice these suggestions safely and with a consenting adult.

G is for Going Away – Nothing can refresh you more than taking a vacation. If that isn’t possible for any reason (work, kids, pandemic, funds) you can still take advantage of a road trip with your significant other. Find a small hotel that you can hide in for the weekend, or even try camping in the great wide world. Find the time to reconnect on multiple levels.

H is for High Heels – Come on ladies, let’s be honest. We don’t wear them for us. We don’t wear them for their comfort. We wear them for the men (or women) in our lives. They can be a great tool for feeling sexy and confident. And men seem to appreciate a sexy pair of heels when there are silky stockings involved.

I is for Images – Being visual people, we all like to see appealing photographs and images. Why not be a little indecent and take some sexy pictures to share with your partner? Boudoir photography, sexy selfies, or even a picture of some sexy lingerie that you plan to wear? It all can make you feel confident and encourage you to be sexy.

J is for Just The Tip – I think this one is pretty understandable, but instead of having full sexual intercourse tease your partner and yourself by only going so far. This can build up your sexiness, in my opinion, by driving yourself and your partner wild. Soon you may find that the flirting and the touches may make you crave them so much that you will be empowered in your sexiness. Go get them ladies!

K is for Kissing – I love to kiss my husband. I love a good old fashioned make out session, where he wants to do more, but we stay kissing building that desire and it makes me feel like the sexiest woman in the world. Kissing doesn’t have to be all tongues, it could be a simple sweet kiss good bye, it could be a passionate kiss when you missed someone. Kissing is a strong action, and one that can make you feel on top of the sexy world you live in.

L is for Licking your Libido – We all have times were we feel disinterested in anything sexy. And that is okay. However if that happens more often than not, first talk with your doctor; secondly you can do many things to help build that sexy feeling. A hot bubble bath, a glass of wine, some candles, or even foreplay. There are so many erogenous zones on a human body and some may be the same for each person, but some may be unique only to you, let your partner know where you want them to lick, nibble, kiss, or caress and let your libido move you to that confident sexy zone where you can be free to enjoy the sensations.

M is for Masturbation – Let’s not pretend. We have all explored our own bodies. It’s healthy, natural, and a great way to know what you like, what you don’t like and what you may want your partner to do. Masturbation doesn’t have to be alone, mutual masturbation with your partner can be very erotic and sexy. Why wouldn’t watching your partner who is watching you, turn you on and build that sexy feeling knowing what your body does for them? Try it and see if it’s something that works for you.

As always, be safe and trust your partner if you are doing anything with them. If it doesn’t feel right, say so, and stop. All sexual activity mentioned above should be with consenting adults and done safely.

I hope you find more sexiness in your life by practicing your ABC’s, and if you find new ideas, don’t hesitate to share them in the comments.

JonBenet

*Warning – The information you are about to read may include discussions of true crimes, graphic details, and crime scenes, this may be too graphic for some people, please use discretion when reading*

Today’s case, is currently unsolved. In 1996, the United States learned of the death of a six year old child, and were saddened that her murderer was never brought to justice. Many theories surround the death of JonBenet Ramsey, and many people believe the murderer was someone she knew and lived with; her parents John and Patsy Ramsey.

JonBenet was born August 6, 1990 and was a beautiful child. Her mother, Patsy, a former beauty queen herself, entered JonBenet into many child beauty pageants, where JonBenet won several trophies and titles.

On December 25, 1996, JonBenet was reported missing at 5:52am MST. Her mother, Patsy, called 911 and police arrived on the scene within 3 minutes. The police officers conducted a cursory search of the house but did not find any sign of forced entry. A ransom note had been left in the home containing specific instructions for a ransom and contacting the police.

John Ramsey, made arrangements to pay the ransom. Believing that the child had been kidnapped, her bedroom was the only one cordoned off to prevent contamination of evidence, no other precautions were made to prevent this in the rest of the house. Friend of the family, the family minister, victim advocates, all were in the house, picking up and cleaning surfaces in the kitchen, possibly destroying evidence along the way. Boulder Colorado detectives arrived at 8:00am MST, awaiting the kidnapper’s instructions, however there was no attempt by anyone to claim the money.

At 1:00pm MST, Detectives asked John Ramsey and a family friend to search the house to see “if anything seemed amiss”. They began in the basement, and started with a latched door that police previously overlooked. In one of the rooms, John Ramsey found the body of his daughter. JonBenet was covered with duct tape, a nylon cord around her wrists and neck and her body covered by a white blanket.

John picked up the body of his daughter, taking her upstairs, contaminating the crime scene and critical forensic evidence was further disturbed or destroyed. The autopsy determined that JonBenet was killed by strangulation, and a skull fracture. Her death was ruled as a homicide.

The entire Ramsey family had submitted handwriting, blood, and hair samples to the police. Originally the Boulder police focused solely on John and Patsy, however in October of 1997, they had over 1,600 persons of interest for the case.

Because of many errors at the crime scene including, loss or contamination of evidence, lack of experienced or technical staff, evidence shared with the Ramsey’s and delayed formal interviews with the parents, complicated the investigation.

In 1999, a grand jury returned a recommendation to charge the Ramsey’s with placing the child at risk in a way that lead to her death and also obstructing an investigation of murder. However, the District Attorney’s office did not prosecute them.

There are currently two theories about JonBenet Ramsey’s murder; Family member theory, and Intruder theory. Police focused on Patsy Ramsey. Stating Patsy in a fit of rage, after a bedwetting episode, struck and JonBenet and strangled her to cover up what happened. The Ramsey’s son Burke was not considered a suspect in the murder.

The other theory states, there was an intruder due to an unidentified boot mark in the room where JonBenet’s body was found. This theory was strongly supported by the District Attorney’s office, and anyone working on the case was told to not voice opposition to the theory.

To this day, no formal charges have been made to anyone regarding the murder of JonBenet Ramsey. The case of JonBenet Ramsey is still considered active at the Boulder Police Department however no new leads have come up.

So my true crime sleuths, what are your opinions on the JonBenet Ramsey case? Do you feel she was murdered by a family member or an intruder? Is there a major coverup in the Boulder Police Department and the District Attorney’s office? We may never know. Please feel free to share your thoughts about this case with me in the comments or even recommend a case you would like to hear more about.

Acne Spas

I have a secret. I enjoy something that some people find repulsive, but honestly it gives me the most relaxation, and enjoyment. I’m talking about watching videos of pimple popping.

If you love them, you love them, and if you dislike them, you feel it is “gross”. I’ve watched them for a few years and I always find them relaxing. My heart goes out to some of the patients who have severe cases and I do hope that they are finding improvements after their treatments.

But watching these got me thinking. These places aren’t averages spas, they may do things like massage or facials, but I’ve seen them described as Acne Spas. Meaning their specialty is simply treating and extracting acne.

So what are the pros and cons of having an acne spa extract your blemishes as opposed to doing it yourself?

  • First of all, it’s a sterile procedure. The technicians have been trained to extract acne, both blackheads and whiteheads, among other types of acne, with minimal discomfort, bruising, scarring, or bleeding.
  • Secondly, by having regular treatments it will reduce breakouts and help your skin heal. Follow their recommendations for caring for your skin between appointments.
  • If you were to do these treatments yourself, you run the risk of bruising, scarring, and even causing infections. Infections should be treated with a medical doctor as you may need antibiotics to help fight them.
  • Additionally, by performing these extractions on yourself or someone else, you may not get the full root of the pimple. You may just be popping the surface and the root may still be under the skin, growing or becoming cystic, causing more acne and problems.
  • Another concern to remember is the cost. Having a professional extract acne has a cost. Depending on the location and time, it can range from under $100 to over $1000 per treatment.

So what should you do if you suffer from acne and it isn’t going away? Start by contacting a dermatologist who can either prescribe medications, or give advice on your best course of treatment. If you feel you would benefit from an extraction service from a spa, please do your homework and find a spa that specializes in extractions and has good reviews on their services.

If you have had this service performed, please share your experiences with me, I would like to hear first hand how it worked!

Why do we need to use a special cream for our eyes, won’t my regular moisturizer be enough? Short answer, No. Longer answer, the skin around your eyes is thinner and shows signs of aging rather quickly. This product vows to target fine lines, reduce the look of dark circles and support natural collagen production. The product actually delivers what it promises to you. Trans – Allegheny Lunatic Asylum

I have reviewed Waverly Hills as a haunted location previously, and wanted to share with you another location that is also on my ghost hunting list, The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, located in Weston, West Virginia, USA.

The Asylum was constructed between 1858 and 1881, and is the largest hand-cut stone masonry building in North America, second in the world after the Kremlin. The building was originally designed to house 250 patients. In the 1950’s it reached its peak with 2,400 patients in overcrowded and generally poor conditions. The hospital was closed in 1994, and the local economy has yet to recover. Currently the Asylum is closed for tours, they plan to reopen again soon.

Is it haunted?

It’s always a matter of interpretation whether a location is haunted or not. Everyone could have a different experience in a location. The Asylum offers six different ghost hunting tours. Some daytime, some nighttime, most require reservations. It’s been reported that the Asylum has had apparitions, unexplained voices and sounds, and other activity.

When the Asylum had reached it’s patient peak in the 1950’s, patients were sleeping on the floors, and in freezing rooms with no furniture or heat. The physical building was falling into disrepair and being covered in grime and mold.

During this era, the asylum began experimental lobotomies. Over 4,000 lobotomies were performed using the “Ice Pick” method. This involved slipping a thin pointed rod into the patient’s eye socket and then using a hammer to sever the connective tissue in the frontal lobe of the brain. As you can assume, this resulted in a number of deaths.

Some of the experiences you may have in the asylum:

  • Lilly, who was born at the asylum, and is still found to be playing in one of the rooms.
  • Jesse, a man who died in the bathtub from a heart attack.
  • Civil War soldiers
  • A patient who was brutally murdered by his roommates.
  • Jim James, unknown as to what happened to Jim, however he has been known to interact with hunters, by turning on flashlights, and with the incentive of a cigarette, turning them off.

It’s up to you to decide if the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum is in fact haunted or not. Please refer to their website for tour information, prices, and hours. http://www.trans-alleghenylunaticasylum.com

Fashion Week

What is fashion week? When is it held? Where can you go to see fashion week? How can you participate in fashion week? All these questions, and more, have gone through my mind at some point. And luckily for all of us, I have the answers.

What is fashion week?

  • Fashion week is a concept that started in Paris, when women were hired to wear couture items in public places. This “fashion parades” influenced American retailers who used the same concept to lure women into their stores.
  • 1943 was the first ever fashion week in New York, to help buyers find alternatives to French fashion as they were not able to travel to France due to World War II.

When is fashion week held?

  • Fashion week happens twice a year in February and in September. The “Big Four” cities for fashion include, New York, London, Milan, and Paris; in that order.
  • There are other cities that have their own fashion weeks, however they may be genre-based such as haute couture (Paris Only), Rio and Miami (swimwear), and Indonesia (Muslim fashion).

How can you participate in fashion week?

  • Plan ahead, start 2-3 months before the show. You need to know if the city you want to go to will be something your finances can handle. If not start looking to see if you can split cost with another person. Reach out to smaller hotels in the area, and see if they have any special rates they can provide. Don’t expect to attend fashion week without making arrangements ahead of time, or you may be sleeping in your car.
  • About a month before, you can start to see the schedules for the show, but remember there are A LOT of shows/presentations that are not listed. So you may need to do some digging to find more events. Then you need to “request” tickets to get invites to shows. Email everyone you can obtain an address for and request the tickets. If you are reaching out to the Brand itself, ask for their shows/presentations, and if you are reaching out to a PR agency ask for all their shows they are handling.
  • When you do get invited to events, only say YES to the events you will be at, don’t reply with YES to things you won’t be attending. This can hinder you in the future if you have the reputation for not showing up.
  • If you wish to participate in a fashion week, start reaching out to brands, photographers, designers and ask if you can intern with them during fashion week. An extra set of hands to hold a camera bag or clip board could be very helpful.

What do I wear to fashion week?

  • If you are wanting to get noticed, dress the part. If you are trying to get your own brand/name out there, wear your clothes and go to places to be seen. Don’t be afraid to stand out.
  • If you are going to simply enjoy it and see the lines, be COMFORTABLE. Now is not the time to wear new heels or a tight outfit. You may stand out more in your comfortable attire, than if you wore five inch stilettos and a micromini.
  • Pack layers, and know you may be walking quite a bit.

On The Dinner Table: Hamburger Stroganoff with Homemade Dumplings

We all have our comfort food that not only makes our belly full but our soul happy. This recipe is a comfort food and perfect for winter nights when it’s colder outside than in your freezer. We have served it a variety of side, but dumplings happen to be our favorite. I have included both recipes for you here today.

  • Ingredients: Stroganoff
  • 1 – 2 lbs. of hamburger
  • 1 large onion, cut in half and sliced
  • 1 – 2 lbs. of sliced mushrooms, you can use any you like
  • 2 – 3 large jars of beef gravy. I used store bought from Heinz, but you can make it yourself if you prefer.
  • Steps:
  • Using a large pan, or electric skillet, add the hamburger, sliced onion and sliced mushrooms. You want the meat to be completely cooked, the onion and mushrooms, tender. Drain excess grease.
  • Pour in your gravy, I prefer to have it thicker, as we serve this dish with sour cream and it thins out the gravy. So start with one or two jars of gravy, you can always add more.
  • Simmer stroganoff until heated through, this gives you plenty of time to make the dumplings or your preferred side dish.
  • Ingredients: Dumplings
  • 2 cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • Water – Use as much water as needed to make your dumpling batter. Usually no more than 1 cup.
  • 8 cups of beef broth
  • Steps:
  • Pour the beef broth into a large pot and bring to a boil.
  • Combine the flour, egg, and water in a bowl and mix until the spoon stands on it’s own. If you have added too much water, simply add more flour to the mixture.
  • When the beef broth is boiling, taking a tablespoon, scoop about 1 tablespoon of the dumpling batter and add it to the beef broth. The hot liquid will release the sticky dumpling mix from the spoon. To make it easier, before you start, dip the spoon in the hot broth before scooping the batter.
  • Once all the dumplings are in the broth, let them cook fully, about 20 minutes. After they are cooked, remove them from the broth and discard the remaining liquid. Serve the dumplings with the stroganoff and sour cream if preferred.
  • These dumplings also work perfectly with Chicken Dumpling soup, simply cook them in the chicken stock instead of beef.

To serve, add dumplings and cover with stroganoff, add a dollop of sour cream if you like, or serve plain. Try the stroganoff with Rice, Egg Noodles, or Mashed Potatoes as well.

Happy Eating

The ABC’s of Feeling Sexy – A to F

We all have those moments of insecurity. Where we feel we aren’t attractive to ourselves or our partners. And if we let it, that negativity will grow and take over our thoughts all day long. How can we stop it? What can we do? Let’s go back and learn our ABC’s and see if we can’t put the sexy back into our lives. In all of the ideas presented below, please have all partners involved be consenting adults and be safe.

A is for Au Natural – We’ve talked about the benefits and joy of wearing lingerie, but what about that secret smile you can have when going out with your significant other and not wearing any panties under your dress?

B is for Blindfolds – When you have been in an drought for that sexy feeling, try taking away a sense, sight is one that can distract you if you are self conscious about something you feel isn’t perfect. Put on a blindfold, and let your partner tantalize you.

C is for Cuddling – Some of us don’t want to rush into having sexual intercourse and want to take things slow. Why not pop in a movie, grab an extra large blanket and a bowl of popcorn and cuddle with your sweetie to build that intimacy.

D is for Domination – Those who are not familiar with BDSM and the freedom it can provide can start slowly if it’s something you are interested in. Domination allows for either you or your partner to dominate the other person. This does not mean anything more than, giving or receiving pleasure with each other, but it can mean a complete lifestyle choice if you wish. There is nothing wrong with giving up control, or controlling another as long as you both agree to it, and consent to it. You may enjoy the freedom in the bedroom only and that is perfectly fine.

E is for Erotica – Women and men both have imaginations and fantasies that turn us on. The world wide web is full of books, poetry, stories, and more to allow you to let your imaginations roam and your fantasies grow. Read them alone or together.

F is for Flirting – One of the things I miss most is flirting with someone, building that desire, and turning each other on to the point where you crave each other. Flirting can me sending sexy messages to each other (sexting) whispering dirty thoughts to each other, or even a sexy image. Flirting can be a great way to build your confidence and feel sexy.

Try some of these suggestions with your partner, or even by yourself and build that sexy feeling again! If you have any other suggestions, please leave them in the comments.

Sunny

*Warning – The information you are about to read may include discussions of true crimes, graphic details, and crime scenes, this may be too graphic for some people, please use discretion when reading*

This case intrigued me after watching the 1990 movie, Reversal of Fortune, starring Glenn Close and Jeremy Irons, who received an Academy Award for Best Actor. The movie was based on the book by Alan Dershowitz, who worked on the appeal for this case. Since the truth will never be known, it’s time for you to decide; did Claus von Bülow attempt to murder his wife Sunny, only to have her remain in a coma for the remainder of her life?

Sunny von Bülow

Sunny was born, Martha Sharp Crawford in 1932. She was given the nickname Sunny because of her disposition. Being the only child, she inherited $100 million USD upon her father’s death when she was only three years old.

In 1957, Sunny married Prince Alfred von Auersperg, who came from a distinctive family line, but was impoverished due to the collapse of the Empire, and was Sunny’s tennis instructor at a Swiss resort. They had two children together, and divorced in 1965.

Claus von Bülow

In June of 1966, Sunny married Claus von Bülow, and had a daughter in 1967. The couple were both having significant stresses in their marriage and spoke openly of divorce.

The First Coma

December 26, 1979, after having spent time with the family for Christmas at Claredon Court in Rhode Island, Sunny was found unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital where she slipped into a coma, but was revived. In April of 1980, she was hospitalized again for being incoherent and disoriented, it was reconfirmed that she was suffering from reactive hypoglycemia and advised to follow a strict diet, limit sugar and avoid alcohol.

The Last Coma

Clarendon Court

Again in December, this time in 1980, while celebrating Christmas at Clarendon Court, Sunny again displayed confusion and incoordination. The next morning she was found unconscious on her bathroom floor. When she was taken to the hospital it was clear that she had suffered severe brain injuries to produce a persistent vegetative state. Claus, did not want to terminate life support, even though it was alleged by Sunny’s two oldest children that he did.

After this incident, Sunny’s eldest children were suspicious that her injury was the result of foul play by Claus. In July of 1981 Claus was charged with two counts of attempted murder.

The Trials and Appeal

Claus went to trial in February 1982 and the prosecution presented circumstantial evidence supported by testimony from various maids, chauffeurs, doctors and others, when an expert testified that he was convinced the brain damage suffered by Sunny was the result of injected insulin, Claus was convicted.

Claus hired Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz for his appeal. Dershowitz had a team of lawyers and law students helping him with the appeal and it had to be a total victory and obliterate the prosecutions case. As they were successful in their appeal, Claus von Bülow’s conviction was overturned.

At the second trial, the defense was more prepared and provided more expert testimony. During the trial, one expert witness recanted his testimony from the first trial and stated that “neither he nor anyone else could ever be 100% certain of the cause of the comas.” Claus was found not guilty on the attempted murder charges.

Sunny and Claus in happier times

Claus von Bülow officially divorced Sunny as part of the agreement in the civil case brought against him by Sunny’s two oldest children. He left the United States and lived the rest of his life peacefully in London. Dying in 2019 at the age of 92.

Sunny von Bülow remained in a nursing home in a vegetative state until she passed away in 2008 at the age of 76. She never recovered from her coma.

That my friends is the mystery of Sunny von Bülow. Unfortunately we will never truly know why she went into a persistent vegetative state, or who may have done it. I would love to hear your take and opinions on this case. Please let me know in the comments.

Please be ever alert, make good choices, stay safe

Music That Means Something

We all have music that we love; we all have music that we dislike. And sometimes there are those songs that reach to our souls and almost become a part of us. Today I wanted to share a song that I heard not that long ago but has stuck with me since, and I absolutely love it, it’s almost become my power song.

“Finish Line” by SATV Music. The singer’s voice, is reminiscent of an old school nightclub singer; deep, smoky, mysterious. The lyrics are simple, and the chorus really touches me deep and if/when you listen to this song, you may feel the same way.

“I’m gonna play through the pain.”

  • How often do we get knocked down, pick ourselves back up and continue going? Maybe our heart got shattered, maybe we were physically destroyed, but the important thing is that we got up.

“I’m gonna rise like the phoenix, I’m gonna fight through the flame”

  • As I mentioned, we got up from what may have knocked us down, caused us pain. The phoenix is a mythical creature that obtains a new life, from the ashes of its predecessor. So like a phoenix we too, can create a new persona, a new identity from what tried to destroy us. We grew from the ashes of what others may have left behind. As I was told by an amazing woman, once a Phoenix, always a Phoenix.

“Devil wan’ drag me down, ‘Cause I’m done, I’m all done playin’ games”

  • After we rise like the phoenix, the devils of our past, can try to take us down, but we won’t be playing that game any longer. We know the game, we are all done playing the game, and so help those who try to play us again. We know how to fight back and succeed.

If you are looking for new music, or need something to give you that internal strength, then I highly encourage you to check out “Finish Line” by SATV Music, and see if it is something that you will enjoy.

But since we all have different tastes in music and if you would like me to hear your favorites, drop them in the comments and they may appear here with a shout out to you!

Be strong, be beautiful, be you
