The Foundation of Make Up

Hello my lovelies! You are absolutely perfect just the way you are, but if you feel you need to enhance any part of your appearance, please do it for you and nobody else. As I have said in the first posting ever, I’m in your corner and here to help you in anyway that I can. So with that said, I wanted to share some information about foundation today.

Being a woman with an uneven complexion and other aspects that I wish to eliminate or at least hide (more on those in the future), I have tried numerous options and found several foundations that I like. This post is not sponsored by any of the brands mentioned therein.

So I prefer a full coverage foundation. One that isn’t too thick but can be built up in areas that need more coverage and in less needed areas it provides good coverage but may not be as heavy. However you do you! If you need less coverage or even none at all, simply share this post with others so they too can maybe find an option that will work for their needs. I envy you if you do not use/need foundation.

The first product that I would like to mention is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Stay In Place Make Up. This has been my go to foundation for a long time now. I find it covers the areas that need to be covered. Doesn’t irritate my skin, and allows my face to breathe. It’s not a product that feels cakey nor does it sit in fine lines (thank you face primer). They have 56 shades and is available online or in fine department stores; $43.

Another product that I have used and enjoy as it is also a fuller coverage foundation, but appears on your skin like natural skin; meaning it doesn’t look like you have foundation on, is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Luminous Foundation. Like the Estee Lauder brand it too can be built up so that you can cover certain areas more as needed. This product isn’t a matte finish, so it simulates healthy glowing skin and provides decent coverage to make you feel your best. Available in beauty stores or online; $38.

Lastly a product that I’ve recently tried and I’m sure you have seen advertised lately is the Il Makiage Foundation. I did their easy color match quiz and received a full size product to try out. The shade is pretty close to my natural skin tone, so I think the quiz is really good at matching you, as long as you are honest and accurate in your answers. What’s even better is that you have full support from Il Makiage so if the shade is not a good match or if you don’t like it, you can return it and try a different shade. Available on ilmakiage.com $44.

Whatever you wear let it be something good for your skin, your beauty, and your confidence. This past year of the pandemic I haven’t worn make up much at all, and I’ve slowly gotten more confident in my own skin. That said I still enjoy make up and getting “dolled” up, but I don’t feel that I have to hide my imperfections any longer. I’m imperfectly perfect. And so are you!

Be strong, be beautiful, be you
